UPDATE: Jack had to be pulled to an emergency foster home. The family wanted him out of their home immediately. When he was picked up, the family said in addition to not being prepared for an Elkhound puppy, they were all allergic to him.

Jack still needs a home. We have received an overwhelming amount of offers for a home for Jack. We are making sure Jack goes to the best home possible. He needs Norwegian Elkhound experience.

We are so grateful for the Norwegian Elkhound community and the rallying of folks ready to help a rescue Norwegian Elkhound.

Jack is cute as can be. He is an eleven week old purebred Norwegian Elkhound.

When his owner got him, he didn’t realize what he was getting into with a Norwegian Elkhound puppy. He had never had one before. He doesn’t have the time needed for Jack. Jack’s breeder does not want him back.

Jack is a good boy. He is trained on the puppy pads. He has his first round of puppy shots. His owner hasn’t taken him for walks because he’s afraid of the exposing Jack because he hasn’t had his second round of shots yet.

Jack is ready for a home that understands Norwegian Elkhounds and puppies. He is in eastern New York.
