Tonka's owner gave him to his nephew Jake when he was a puppy. Jake wanted an elkhound and said he would take good care of him.
One month later Tonka's owner found out Jake's house was in bad disrepair and not a suitable place for a young dog. Jake gave the puppy back.
One year later Jake said he was ready to give the puppy a good home. Tonka's owner gave him another chance. Jake took the puppy home.
Two months later Tonka's owner was looking thru the online pet listings and saw a dog that looked just like Tonka. It was Tonka. Jake had given him to animal control and the Humane Society had pulled him out to save him. Jake denied giving Tonka up and to this day no one knows why.
Tonka is a great dog. He has lots of energy and loves to play. He was in a foster home. He has been adopted and is a loving home. He lives with a family with a young child who adores him. He plays with her in his fenced yard and keeps her safe at night.
